What is Reiki?
Reiki, pronounced (ray key) meaning "universal life energy" is most well known as a holistic treatment technique which is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us all. If this energy is depleted then we are more likely to become ill or feel stressed, if it is high we are more likely to be happy, healthy and more energetic. Reiki addresses several imbalances - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Reiki can be used for the purpose of self healing and personal development. It also works in conjunction with all other medical and therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote swift recovery. Reiki is believed to have begun in Tibet several thousand years ago. It was rediscovered by the Usui Reiki founder Mikao Usui in the 1920's in Japan.
Reiki involves the transfer of energy from the practitioner to the recipient to enhance the body's natural ability to heal itself. Reiki is not a religion and is free from dogma and rules. There is nothing in which you need to believe in order to learn, use or benefit from a Reiki treatment. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will be beneficial to the recipient whether he believes in it or does not.
What can Reiki do for
me?
Anyone can benefit from a course of Reiki treatments, no matter what age or state of health and changes can take place over a relatively short space of time. Reiki can be used as a complimentary therapy for many conditions and in addition can facilitate boosted energy levels, reduced stress and anxiety, a feeling of inner calm and deep relaxation.
Reiki can also help you to deal better with stressful situations and difficult people, feel more confident, develop a strong sense of purpose and clear thinking, be more productive in the workplace and enjoy a better quality of life.
