Practitioner Courses
- First Degree
The Usui Reiki First Degree course also called "Shoden" is a 1 day course with some pre-course learning, about 9 hours, in the form of a manual and 2 CD's. One CD contains the course information and the other some short meditations so that you can become familiar with Reiki in advance of the class. The pre-course learning also allows you to relax and enjoy the day. All the training materials are accurately and professionally produced by Reiki Evolution. Although the founder, Mikao Usui is no longer available for reference Reiki Evolution are very careful to keep the training materials as close to the original as possible.
On the day the main focus is on "energy work" and receiving attunements and empowerments that connect you to Reiki energy and open up the channels through which energy flows. This connection will stay with you for the rest of your life and can be strengthened through meditations and should you so wish further courses. The course is for a small group, ideally 4 so that you can work with other people and share you experiences of the Reiki energy. The small group also makes the day more personal.
After First Degree you will be able to use Reiki on yourself, friends and family including pets, be familiar with the meditations which are on the CD and how they benefit you. You will also have an awareness of "energy" as most of the training day involves energy work, either on yourself or shared with others.

Practitioner Courses
- Second Degree
The Second Degree or "Okuden" Is available for those who have completed the First Degree. This course is usually taken a few months later and after allowing the energy of the First Degree empowerments to settle. It also allows people to practice what they have previously learned, develop their own Reiki meditation practice and study the Second Degree course material which again is in the form of a comprehensive manual and CD.
