What does Reiki
involve?
Receiving Usui or Angelic Reiki from a qualified practitioner is a simple process. The recipient lies on a treatment table and the practitioner will gently lay their hands in a series of positions on the head, torso and legs, often hovering the hands rather than touching. During the treatment, energy called "Chi" is drawn through the practitioner and into the recipient helping to produce a state of balance. Throughout the session the recipient will remain fully clothed. It is also possible and preferred by some people to sit or use the reclining facility of a treatment relaxer chair. This also has the advantage of being fully portable giving the practitioner the option to visit the client at home or work.
What might I feel?
This varies from person to person. Some people feel very little other than a sense of relaxation. others may feel heat from the practitioners hands as they hover above the body. Sometimes you may feel a pleasant tingling or floating sensation but no matter what you feel you can be sure Reiki is giving you just what you need at the time.
How many treatments
will I need?
A single Reiki treatment will provide some beneficial results bringing
a sense of calm and perhaps boosted energy levels, it may also have
some short term physical benefits too. However the best results come
from having a course of treatments, usually 4-6 lasting approximately 1
hour and taken at weekly intervals.
Treatment sessions of less than 1 hour are great for those who have
limited time or would just like a "taster" session. I like to call
these "power" sessions as it is a great way to recharge your batteries
when time is short.
